About Fernanda Cruz
My name is Fernanda Bela Cruz, I was born in the city of São Paulo - Brazil, on July 7th 1984. I am Antonio's and Marly's daughter and the youngest sister of Michele and Daniela. Oh... and Mateus' aunt!
Handicrafts are an old passion that has followed me since a very early age, but, because of the circumstances of life, we were apart for long years.
I've been working in the IT industry for more than fifteen years, but the pandemic came and, with it, a BURNOUT! After that, I decided that it was the right time to rescue my essence.
I started weaving bags to deal with burnout and depression, but I ended up discovering a life purpose.
At the beginning of 2021, I decided to transform what rescued me from where I was into a business.
At first my focus was to sell my products in the Brazilian market. The date chosen to launch the website was 04/04/21. On that day, 04/04/2021, my father passed away. I had to take several steps back, a lot of things changed and, as a result, I had to pause my dream.
I finished a master's degree and had to return to the IT industry, the same “place” that had made me sick. It was a challenging time, but the certainty and flame of Bela Cruz remained alive within me.
After that came the desire to bring the face of Brazil to the world. Showing the best of what we have: our people and the beauty of our country.
Bela Cruz was born that way: in the simplicity and desire to do something that could touch people's hearts and also could carry a little bit of my essence.
Since the brand's conception, I always had in mind everything I wanted to be, but also everything that I didn't want to be.
Starting from this point, I decided to produce the raw materials used in the products. All bags are 100% handmade from sustainable cotton yarn. Everything is thought out with great care so that you can receive the best product.
When you receive your bag, feel unique! Because we treat each bag as unique! And you deserve exactly that!
My dream is to empower Brazilian women in social vulnerability situations giving them the opportunity to make their own money and the opportunity of being protagonists of their lives. I want to tell their stories, the stories behind the bags.
We can do that together! We can help other people and the planet by making better choices!
